MEDICARE

Medicare is a federal health insurance program in the United States that provides coverage for healthcare services to people aged 65 and older, as well as certain younger individuals with disabilities and those with specific medical conditions.

It consists of four main parts:

PART A

Covers inpatient hospital care, skilled nursing facility care, hospice care, and some home health care services.

PART C

Medicare Advantage

Allows beneficiaries to receive their Medicare benefits through private insurance plans approved by Medicare, often including additional benefits beyond Original Medicare.

PART B

Covers outpatient medical services, including doctor visits, preventive care, laboratory tests, durable medical equipment, and some home health care services.

PART D

​Provides prescription drug coverage through private insurance plans approved by Medicare.
